ID Insight, Northfield, has been awarded a patent for its method of identifying differences in addresses to help banks and other financial institutions detect and prevent identify theft. The company uses its data and analytics to help banks, credit card issuers and retailers analyze every available piece of information about the addresses tied to change-of-address requests.

NEW BUSINESS

Oxygenator Water Technologies, Minneapolis, will exclusively license its water oxygenation technology for use in the cleaning and sanitization equipment industries. The patented technology optimizes real-time production of microbubbles and nanobubbles of oxygen in water -- bubbles that are the foundation for chemical-free cleaning systems. The company has engaged Twin Cities technology monetization firm 3DBD Inc. as exclusive licensing agent.

Lawson Software Inc., St. Paul, said Lakeview Health System has selected multiple enterprise software solutions, including Lawson Enterprise Financial Management and Supply Chain Management suites. As part of the contract, Lakeview will implement Lawson Contract Management and Budgeting & Planning applications along with Workplace Management applications Lawson Time & Attendance and Scheduling and Staffing..

DEBT AND EQUITIES

Deluxe Corp., Shoreview, declared a quarterly dividend of 25 cents per share, payable Sept. 7 to shareholders of record on Aug. 16. The company had about 51.5 million shares outstanding as of July 30.

Xcel Energy Inc., Minneapolis, has commenced a public offering of 19 million common shares. It intends to use any net proceeds to repay outstanding commercial paper and make capital contributions to its operating subsidiaries.

ValueVision Media Inc., Eden Prairie, appointed William McGrath as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He joined ValueVision in January and has been interim CFO since February.
