American cellist Wendy Warner and Moscow-born pianist Irina Nuzova have been concertizing as duo WarnerNuzova since 2005. Part of their mission is "to commission unique arrangements and new music," yet that activity (press release notwithstanding) is difficult to detect in the program for their Music in the Park Series debut recital, which comprises sonatas by Rachmaninoff (Op. 19) and Nikolay Myaskovsky (Op. 81), plus Schumann's evocative "Fantasy Pieces," Op. 73. But who's complaining?
