When Chelsea Clinton was spotted in an oversized hat entering Vera Wang's New York salon last week, it was pretty clear which designer the soon-to-be bride had chosen for her big day.
When her father walked her down the aisle Saturday, she wore a frothy ball gown fit for a princess. Although Wang doesn't intend to replicate the dress, Clinton's gown is a version of the "Diana" from Wang's spring 2010 bridal collection. It featured a modified bodice and a Swarovski crystal sash. Before changes, the gown retails for $6,990 and is available in the Twin Cities through L'Atelier Couture Bridal Boutique in St. Paul.
"I am so happy that Chelsea picked a bit more fashion-forward look," said Amanda Kautt, president of L'Atelier Couture. "The flirty layers of silk organza in the gown and layering in the bodice show a departure for Chelsea from her typically classic style into her new life. She looks stunning and is an iconic new image for new brides today."

With a short warm-weather season, why waste a minute of it indoors -- even when you're getting a haircut?
At Lili, a William and Friends Salon in Minnetonka, you now can have your hair done at a new patio station. Weather-permitting, you can get a cut, color or keratin treatment as birds chirp along with the hum of the hair dryer. Adding to the experience, artist Dan Noyes has installed sculptures in the vicinity.
Due to the popularity of the hot (and sometimes humid) spot, owners William and Mary Anderson plans to expand the number of outdoor stations next summer. There is no additional charge for outdoor services, but you might want to mention your preference when you book an appointment.
