One for the record books
You know it's a wild game when a quarterback passes for 350 yards and six touchdowns — and is overshadowed. But that's what happened to the Giants' Eli Manning, who was trumped by the Saints' Drew Brees, who went 40-for-50 for 511 yards and seven TDs. A look at where the stats from New Orleans' 52-49 victory rank:
7 TD passes: Brees' total tied the NFL record, a feat six others (including former Viking Joe Kapp) have accomplished.
511 passing yards: Brees' big game ranks 10th all-time. The most is 554 by the Rams' Norm Van Brocklin against the Yankees in 1951.
101 combined points: Tied for third all-time. The most was 113 in the Redskins' 72-41 victory over the Giants in 1966.
