Brand in brief: Honda

Honda has several new items in the works as part of its 2010 stable of cars. First, the Crosstour. As we've previously reported in this section, and as Car and Driver recently reported, though the actual name is still somewhat uncertain, Honda will introduce a new crossover late this fall. It will probably be based on a mix of Accord and Pilot architecture, and its price will likely start just above $25,000. The new Honda is expected to offer four- and six-cylinder engines, as well as an all-wheel-drive system. It will bear a strong resemblance to the new Acura ZDX crossover, and also might remind a few of us of the now long-gone Accord station wagon, which Honda produced in the early 1990s. Second, the venerable CRV is expected to receive mid-year "freshening" that will include revised front and rear fascias, restyled wheels, a small horsepower increase and interior detail updates including upgraded electronics. Honda's Insight also returns. Introduced in mid-2009 as a 2010 model, the Insight brings improved affordability and modicum of driving fun to the hybrid segment, Car and Driver opines. Other Honda models that are virtually unchanged or receive minor upgrades for 2010 include: Accord, Civic, Element, FCX Clarity (hydrogen fuel cell vehicle), Fit, Odyssey (minivan), Pilot and Ridgeline (pickup truck). Honda's distinctive S2000 sports car has been discontinued.
