April 2008: Delta Air Lines of Atlanta agrees to acquire Eagan-based Northwest Airlines.
October 2008: Deal is completed; Northwest begins operating as a Delta subsidiary.
December 2008: Delta begins repainting Northwest aircraft in Delta colors.
January 2009: Delta agrees to maintain 10,000 jobs in the Twin Cities through 2016 and 400 daily departures at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport through 2020.
March 2009: Delta signs replace Northwest's at the MSP airport. Northwest pilots and flight attendants begin wearing Delta uniforms.
October 2009: Northwest's WorldPerks frequent-flier program is folded into Delta's SkyMiles program. Northwest's operations center moves from MSP to Atlanta.
Thursday: Delta receives approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to combine the two airlines' flight operations.
