DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Ethiopian Airlines has confirmed an order of 12 A350 XWB aircraft from Airbus at Dubai airshow.
The order covers Trent XWB engines for 12 A350 XWB planes that will begin service in 2017. Airbus values the deal at $3 billion at list prices.
This is the first plane order at the Dubai Airshow that began in the Gulf emirate on Sunday.
Earlier Rolls-Royce said ir has reached $2 billion worth of deals to sell aircraft engines that will power new Airbus jetliners for Air China and Ethiopian Airlines.
Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
