Dresser-Rand names Stephen Snider as new independent member of board of directors

HOUSTON - Industrial equipment maker and contractor Dresser-Rand Group Inc. on Tuesday named Stephen Snider as a new independent member of its board of directors.

The move brings the total number of directors to eight.

Snider, 62, previously served as the CEO and director of Exterran Holdings Inc. and was CEO and director of the general partner of Exterran Partners LP. He retired from all positions with Exterran on June 30.

Lights out at U energy conference. Irony police notified.

Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
