Maiden Holdings authorizes dividend increase to 6 1/2 cents

HAMILTON, Bermuda - Reinsurance company Maiden Holdings Ltd. said Tuesday it boosted third quarter dividend by 8 percent to 6 1/2 cents per share.

The Hamilton, Bermuda-based reinsurance holding company approved dividend payable on Jan. 15 to shareholders of record as of Jan. 4.

The previous dividend was 6 cents per share.

Lights out at U energy conference. Irony police notified.

Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
