FORT SMITH, Ark. - Electrical equipment maker Baldor Electric Co. said Tuesday its board of directors promoted Jeffery Hubert to vice president of generators, effective Jan. 1.
Hubert will oversee all of Baldor's generator business, including sales, engineering and manufacturing. He was most recently general manager of generators.
Shares of Baldor fell 40 cents to $27.02 in afternoon trading.

Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
