FORT SMITH, Ark. - Electrical equipment maker Baldor Electric Co. on Tuesday declared a quarterly cash dividend of 17 cents.
The dividend is payable on Jan. 5 to shareholders on record as of Dec. 15.
Shares of Baldor Electric fell 41 cents to $27.01 in afternoon trading.
Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
