3M Drug Delivery Systems, a unit of 3M Co., Maplewood, has signed an agreement with VaxInnate Corp. under which VaxInnate acquires the use of 3M's patented toll-like receptor agonists for use as vaccine adjuvants. Under the terms of the non-exclusive licensing agreement, 3M provides its TLR agonists to VaxInnate for an undisclosed licensing fee, in addition to milestone and royalty payments.
NEW PRODUCTSBoston Scientific Corp., Natick, Mass., has launched its Cognis cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator and Teligen implantable cardioverter defibrillator in Japan. These devices were approved by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in August and received reimbursement approval in September.
Vascular Solutions Inc., Plymouth, has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration to launch the GuideLiner catheter in the United States. The GuideLiner is a coaxial "mother and child" guide extension with rapid exchange capabilities that provides backup support and selective deep intubation in challenging coronary interventions.
NEW BUSINESSAlliant Techsystems, Edina, has received an additional $93 million in orders for small-caliber ammunition from the U.S. Army Sustainment Command in Rock Island, Ill. These orders are for 5.56mm, 7.62mm and .50-caliber ammunition that will be produced at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Mo.
