In Weber Shandwick's Minneapolis-St. Paul office, Leslie Williamson was promoted to account director. Williamson's expertise includes issues and crisis management, thought leader program development, data publicity and product communications. Jackie Dummer has been promoted to senior account executive. Dummer has led media relations efforts, provided account management support, managed a client's social media presence on Twitter and executed public affairs and public awareness campaign tactics. Rebecca Wright has been promoted to account executive. Wright has expanded her professional skill set to include coordinating executive visibility initiatives and managing projects.

Park Midway Bank, St. Paul, named Russell Gaydos vice president of SBA Lending and named Kris Dohrmann relationship manager in commercial lending.

Lights out at U energy conference. Irony police notified.

Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
