John Young, executive of American Water Works, named chairman of trade group

VOORHEES, N.J. - American Water Works Co. said Thursday the president of its American Water Services and American Water Works Service Co. was elected chairman of the Design-Build Institute of America for 2010.

John Young has been a DBIA board member for five years, most recently as treasurer.

Young assumes his new post on Saturday.

Lights out at U energy conference. Irony police notified.

Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
