Charles River Associates names Monica Noether as its new chief operating officer

BOSTON - Consulting firm Charles River Associates on Tuesday named Monica Noether its chief operating officer.

Noether, 56, succeeds Paul Maleh, who will become president and chief executive at the end of the month.

Most recently an executive vice president leading marketing, business deployment and other areas, Noether has worked for Charles River since 1996.

The firm also named Chad Holmes as global leader of corporate development, and hired Elizabeth Ramos as its global leader of human capital.

Holmes, 36, has worked for CRA since 2004. Ramos, 50, joins the firm from Fidelity Private Equity, where she was a senior vice president.

Charles River shares slid 48 cents, or 2 percent, to $24.81 in afternoon trading.

Lights out at U energy conference. Irony police notified.

Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
