Famous Dave's of America Inc., Eden Prairie, has opened restaurants in Lake Delton, Wis., Topeka, Kan., and Fort Collins, Colo.

DEBT AND EQUITIES

TCF Financial Corp., Wayzata, declared a quarterly dividend of 5 cents per common share, payable Nov. 30 to stockholders of record Oct. 30. On Sept. 30 there were 128.7 million common shares outstanding.

PERSONNEL

Life Time Fitness Inc., Chanhassen, has named Jack Eugster and John Lloyd to its board of directors. Eugster is former chairman, president and chief executive officer of Musicland Corp. Lloyd is president of Meridian Health, a New Jersey-based integrated health system.

Lights out at U energy conference. Irony police notified.

Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
