In 1985, the airport's main terminal building was dedicated as the Charles A. Lindbergh Terminal in honor of the famous aviator, who grew up in Little Falls, Minn.
In 1975, the Metropolitan Airports Commission bought a United Airlines hangar and converted it to the Hubert H. Humphrey International Charter Terminal, named in honor of the former vice president and Minnesota senator. The new terminal building opened in May 2001. Over the years, it has been referred to as the "HHH Terminal" the "charter terminal" and the "Humphrey Terminal."
