Rocky outlook: Compass Minerals slid 13.5 percent to $60.10 Friday after the mining company cut its annual profit forecast after a partial ceiling cave-in at a rock salt mine in Ontario that will slow operations for six weeks.

Strong defense: Aerospace manufacturer Orbital ATK soared 20.8 percent to $132.95 Monday after agreeing to be acquired by Northrop Grumman for $7.8 billion. Orbital shares closed Friday at $132.64. Northrop, which added 1.4 percent, to $270.88 Monday, closed the week at $281.55.

Combo meal: Bob Evans Farms jumped 5.6 percent to $77.01 Tuesday after the maker of frozen foods agreed to be acquired by Post Holdings for $1.53 billion, or $77 a share. The shares closed Friday at $77.25. Post shares, which were unchanged on the news at $85.84, closed the week at $86.15.

Done deal: Silver Spring Networks surged 23.8 percent to $16.10 Monday after the networking platform provider agreed to be acquired by Itron in a deal valued at $830 million. Shares closed the week at $16.18.

Toy trouble: Mattel and Hasbro slumped Monday after retailer Toys 'R' Us filed for bankruptcy protection. Mattel slid 3.9 percent, to $15.24, closing Friday at $14.52. Hasbro fell 2.2 percent, to $92.80, finishing the week at $96.14.

Deal bounce: Calgon Carbon soared 62.1 percent to $21.40 Thursday after the maker of water and air filtration systems agreed to be acquired by Japanese company Kurary for $1.1 billion. The stock closed Friday at $21.40.
