TIPS FOR A PROFILE

Here are some tips from Hendrickson for a successful profile.

• View other profiles. Find a format that works for you.

• Add a picture.

• Fill out everything, including professional history, special skills, volunteer activities, publications and education. Pay as much attention to your profile as you would to a paper résumé.

• In your profile title, add what type of job you are looking for. It's OK to say you are unemployed and searching for an opportunity.

• LinkedIn gives you the chance to post online recommendations from friends, colleagues, clients, former supervisors, etc. Recommendations will give your profile some pop.
