Digital Angel, South St. Paul, received a special dividend of about $7.2 million in cash from VeriChip Corp. VeriChip previously announced that it would pay a special cash dividend of $1.35 per share Aug. 28 to stockholders of record Aug. 18. Digital Angel owns approximately 45 percent of the common stock of VeriChip Corp.
