The owner of the St. Paul Park oil refinery said Monday that repairs have been completed after a September fire.
Northern Tier Energy, based in Ridgefield, Conn., said in a statement that both crude towers are fully functional, allowing the refinery to operate at a crude oil throughput of 85,000-90,000 barrels per day since Oct. 14.
The repairs cost less than $3 million, far below the original estimate, the company said. The refinery is still undergoing other, previously planned maintenance on a fluid catalytic cracker unit through October.
Northern Tier also operates and franchises SuperAmerica stores in the Midwest.
