Amy Drury, Coherent Solutions

Title: Vice president of sales

Age: 46

Amy Drury, the new vice president of sales at Coherent Solutions, is working to help the St. Louis Park information technology consulting and outsourcing company expand into new markets and industries.

Coherent Solutions has strong growth potential in Chicago, which it already serves, and on its existing East Coast business, Drury said. The company has offices in Boston and New York plus its development center in Minsk, in the Eastern European country of Belarus.

Health care is among the industries the company is targeting for growth, said Drury, who assists in strategic sales of application development, mobile development and business intelligence services.

Coherent Solutions' work with entrepreneurial clients such as Jingit and LiquidSpace is part of what drew her to her new role.

Drury has more than 20 years of sales and management expertise in technology consulting. She most recently worked as Minneapolis area partner for FocalPointe Group and previously was senior vice president and managing director at Genesis 10, where she managed sales, recruiting and delivery.

Drury has served on the executive committee of the board of the Fairview Foundation, which supports Fairview Health Services, for the past two and a half years.

The company, which has 350 employees, was named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies, with revenue jumping to $13.1 million last year from $8.8 million in 2011.

Q: Why should clients work with Coherent Solutions?

A: We're very mature in what we do, in our process and our methodologies. We have the ability to scale but more importantly we're not so big that a customer is just another customer. We go into a relationship looking at the long-term plan and partnership.

Q: What do you like about working with entrepreneurial companies in your role at Coherent Solutions?

A: An entrepreneurial spirit tends to be a little bit more adventurous and a little bit more leading-edge technology, which is very exciting. We can leverage a lot of our technology advances in helping them grow. We've been with a lot of clients since Day One.

Q: What challenges come with spanning time zones?

A: With some of our development in Minsk, we've shifted our day so we have an overlap of almost half a day, depending on whether it's the Central or Eastern time zone. Our customers have told us that we have become an extension of their existing team.
