• The Embassy Suites St. Paul Downtown has completed renovations of its 208 guest rooms, part of an $8.5 million renovation of the historic hotel, which is owned by an affiliate of Platinum Equity and is managed by Dallas-based Aimbridge Hospitality. It’s the third downtown hotel to announce or complete an overhaul this year.

• St. Paul’s flagship bank, Bremer Financial, for the eighth year in a row has topped its goal for the June food shelf cash drive from employees, customers and online viewers of its hunger-awareness video that benefits several agencies. In all, Bremer, which puts up a matching grant, has topped $1 million in donations.
