Midwest Air Group Incorporated's Midwest Airlines extended its code-share agreement with Northwest Airlines Corp. for routes between Indianapolis and seven cities. The Milwaukee airline expects the code-share agreement to "greatly expand" the networks of both carriers by adding 250 city pairs and more than 1,000 new flight options.

Alaska Airlines to offer Seattle-MSP flightsAlaska Airlines is entering the Twin Cities market. It's launching twice-daily routes between Seattle and Minneapolis-St. Paul starting in October, and once-daily flights between Seattle and Kona, Hawaii, starting in November. Tickets for the new flights go on sale Thursday. To inaugurate the service, Seattle-based Alaska Airlines is offering introductory one-way fares of $139 between Seattle and Minneapolis and $229 between Seattle and Kona.

Just as Lawrence Kazmerski, a top official at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was about to give the keynote address at the University of Minnesota's annual E3 conference at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, the lights went out, bathing the audience in darkness and a deep sense of irony.
