MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONSCretex Companies, Elk River, has acquired the assets of Spectralytics Inc., a Dassel, Minn.-based contract manufacturing provider of laser-based services to the medical device industry. Terms were not disclosed.

Stratasys Inc., Minneapolis, and Objet Ltd., Rehovot, Israel, have completed their merger. The combined company began trading trade on the Nasdaq stock exchange as Stratasys Ltd. under the symbol SSYS. Based on the closing price of Stratasys Inc. stock on Nov. 30, the market capitalization of the new company will be about $3.0 billion.

NEW BUSINESSVideo Guidance, Bloomington, a strategic videoconferencing company, has formed a partnership with Single Path, a Chicago-based provider of technology solutions and managed IT offerings to Illinois- and California-based businesses. The strategic partnership will help Video Guidance grow by increasing its sales presence in its current markets and expanding its geographic reach across Illinois and California.

PERSONNELWinland Electronics Inc., Mankato, has named David Gagne chief executive officer and director. Gagne, who joined the company as an adviser to the board earlier this year, previously was chief operating officer at XRS Corp., formerly known as Xata Corp.
