Pork plant workers will be workers' comp after all.
Several employees at the Quality Pork Processors plant in Austin, Minn., will get workers compensation after all, their attorneys said this week.
A mysterious neurological illness has sickened at least 18 workers there. Several had their initial workers comp claims denied. But their attorneys say Quality Pork's workers compensation insurance carrier has now decided to pay those claims.
The workers include Susan Kruse, who filed a lawsuit after her claim was denied. Her attorney, Ray Peterson of Minneapolis, says they got the news Monday.
They also include about 10 workers represented by Rochester attorneys Paul Dahlberg and Tom Patterson.
