Minneapolis-based National Wind LLC said Wednesday that it has been acquired by a wind development group based in India and has ended its role as developer of a proposed $180 million wind farm in Goodhue County.

National Wind was acquired by Trishe Wind Energy Inc., whose president, Vivek Mittal, is serving as acting CEO of the company. Former National Wind CEO Peter Mastic has left the firm. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

National Wind said its development agreement with T. Boone Pickens' American Wind Alliance, which would own the Goodhue wind project, was terminated in August. American Wind Alliance continues to pursue the project, which is awaiting action by state regulators.

Seven other wind energy projects, including three others in Minnesota, are still under development by National Wind, the company said. Trishe Energy Group has more than 4,000 megawatts of wind projects developed or underway worldwide, the company said.
