Purchasing-card payment system previewed

Treasury managers, corporate controllers and purchasing-card program managers were the first to get a look at the latest payment system from U.S. Bancorp at the Financial Supply Chain Conference in Anaheim, Calif., March 4 to 6. U.S. Bank Corporate Payment Systems introduced U.S. Bank Access Online Payment Plus, for vendors who make infrequent, high-dollar purchases. Payment Plus extends the value of purchasing-card programs and lets organizations automate their accounts-payable business processes by reducing paper and increasing controls. Payment Plus accommodates payment for purchases with high control requirements such as purchase orders, receipts and invoices.

Life Time Fitness takes the triathlon indoors

Life Time Fitness already sponsors the Life Time Fitness Triathlon series -- five prominent Olympic-distance triathlon events in the United States. Now it's taking the sport indoors to select fitness centers, using pools, bikes and treadmills. The indoor triathlon performance is measured by total distance covered in the time allowed, generally 60 minutes (10 in the pool, 30 in a dedicated cycling studio and 20 on the treadmill). The more distance covered in a set time, the higher the participant's score. The company says the program is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities. Life Time will hold 30 of the events this year, and they are open to members and nonmembers alike. For more information, visit www.lifetimefitness.com/events.
