The Minneapolis ad agency Periscope confirmed Wednesday that it is parting ways with Red Robin, its restaurant client for the past three years.

The agency said Red Robin has put its account up for review and that Periscope will "not be defending" its business. Periscope handled both creative and media buying for Colorado-based Red Robin and its 460 restaurants.

Red Robin hopes to boost sales, company executives told stock analysts earlier this summer.

But loss of the $20 million Red Robin account by Periscope is tempered by the new account it won late last month with Minneapolis-based Phillips Distilling and three of its leading liquor brands: UV Vodka, Prairie Organic Vodka and Revel Stoke Spiced Whiskey.

Periscope will handle both traditional and non-traditional advertising and marketing services.

UV Vodka launched this year in Spain and China and plans to expand in Europe, Mexico and South America. The brand is also available in the U.S. and Japan. Prairie Organic Vodka is distilled in Minnesota and Revel Stoke Spiced Whiskey is distilled in Canada.
