NEW BUSINESS

Cirrus Aircraft, Duluth, said that Cirrus SR20s and SR22s have been selected by Cassidian Aviation Training Services for the French Air Force and Navy. The 13 SR20s and seven SR22s will be used mostly for training.

MOM Brands, Minneapolis, said it is adding 50 jobs to its Asheboro, N.C., facility as the company completes its $140 million expansion there.

PERSONNEL

St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, said Thomas Garrett III, a member of its board of directors, has died of multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer.

United Subcontractors Inc., St. Paul, named L.W. Varner Jr. president and chief executive. Varner also will serve on the company's board of directors.
