ResCap CFO Khattri to step down May 31

Struggling mortgage lender Residential Capital of Bloomington said that Chief Financial Officer Sanjiv Khattri will step down May 31. Khattri has been ResCap CFO as well as an executive at its parent, GMAC Financial Services. GMAC spokeswoman Gina Proia said Khattri will stay through May to help with the transition to new CFO James Young. Fitch Ratings this month again slashed its rating on GMAC debt further into junk territory, saying GMAC is being hurt by ResCap, which lost $4.3 billion last year.

Dolan Media buys political newsletter

Niche publisher and political commentator Sarah Janecek said that she has sold her Politics in Minnesota publishing franchise to Dolan Media Co., a Minneapolis-based legal and political publisher. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Janecek will become the director of political coverage for Dolan Media, she said. The Politics in Minnesota staff will vacate its Como Avenue offices in St. Paul to share office space with employees of another Dolan property, the twice-weekly St. Paul Legal Ledger, at the Capitol. Politics in Minnesota was founded in 1982 by D.J. Leary and Wy Spano. Janecek bought the newsletter in 2005.
