Note: Ishrak's compensation includes a signing bonus of $1,553,042 but does not include the value of time-based and performance-based stock awards worth $16,252,865 that were given to him as sign-on and make whole awards when he joined Medtronic last year. Meanwhile, William Hawkins, who ceased being chairman and CEO effective June 13, 2011, but remained an employee of Medtronic through April 27, 2012, received $10.9 million in total compensation that included severance payments of $3.8 million and $2.95 million from the value of restricted stock that vested during the year.
