Allina Health, Minneapolis, named Sara J. Criger president of Mercy Hospital and senior vice president of Allina Health. She is vice president of HealthEast Care System and chief executive officer of St. Joseph's Hospital. Criger has also held key leadership positions at Fairview including president, Fairview Ridges Hospital and vice president of ambulatory services at University Medical Center.
PeopleNet, Minneappolis, a provider of innovative and integrated onboard computing and mobile communications systems for fleet management, promoted Mark Botticelli to executive vice president and head of technology. Before joining PeopleNet 12 years ago, he held senior management positions at United Parcel Service (UPS) and was deeply involved in the launch and deployment of UPS' first wireless communication service initiative.
Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, hired Virginia Arthur as provost and vice president of academic affairs. Arthur has been associate provost for faculty affairs at the University of Northern Iowa.
The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co., Horsham, Pa., hired Christopher Citurs as regional marketing specialist for the insurer's Midwest region. He'll be in Farmington, Minn. Before joining Penn Mutual, Citurs was a financial representative at a mutual company for nine years. In 2009, he started his own firm, Citurs Financial Group.
The members of the Minnesota Chapter of Community Associations Institute, Minneapolis, named Traci Lehman of Cities Management Inc. as president of CAI-MN. She is also president of Cities Management.
Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare, St. Paul, is now ranked 12th in the nation for pediatric orthopedics and 39th in the nation for pediatric neurology/neurosurgery in the U.S. News Media Group's 2012-2013 Best Children's Hospitals rankings. Last year, Gillette ranked 25th and 44th in the two areas.
Michael Unger of Unger Law Office in Minneapolis, was recently given the President's Award by the Hennepin County Bar Foundation. The award is given in recognition of his service and dedication to the foundation and its principles, including improving access to justice, and for his service to the community.
