St. Jude Medical Inc. said Tuesday that federal regulators have approved a new cardiac defibrillator with features that reduce the potential for inappropriate shocks.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved St. Jude's Assura portfolio of implantable defibrillators, which have "advanced sensing options designed to reduce the incidence of inapproriate shocks," the Little Canada-based company said in a press release.
