Northwest Airlines' pretax profit margin in 2007 was the highest among six large U.S. network carriers.

 

Northwest 6.1%.

US Airways 3.8%.

Continental 3.7%.

Delta 3.1%.

United 2.5%.

American 1.9%.

Excluding reorganization, unusual items and some fuel-hedge positions.
