Maple Grove-based AllOver Media Inc. said Thursday that it has purchased The Wide Format Shop, an advertising firm that specializes in printing large vinyl advertisements.

Terms were not disclosed. Wide Format's staff is expected to be retained.

With Wide Format, AllOver Media gains five special printers capable of generating 3.6 million square feet of large vinyl ads a year.

"We are very excited about this acquisition and what it means for the company," AllOver CEO Tony Jacobson said in a statement.

AllOver Media is perhaps best known for its non-traditional advertising approach that features ads at gas stations and in the stalls of restaurant bathrooms.
