MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONSCarlson & Stewart Refrigeration, Marshall, Minn., has acquired Central Minnesota Refrigeration Inc., Sauk Rapids, Minn. The new company, now operating solely as Carlson & Stewart, maintains the Sauk Rapids location and its 15 service technicians and customer service employees. Both companies provide refrigeration systems to the meatpacking, poultry, dairy, beverage, bakery and cold storage industries.

NEW PRODUCTSSt. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, said it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of its Unify Quadra cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator and Quartet left ventricular quadripolar pacing lead. The company will begin shipping the products immediately.

3M Co., Maplewood, has opened a new plant in Ribeiro Preto, Brazil, to ramp up its production of 3M Glass Bubbles designed for use as a lightweight, ultra-high-strength filler in pipe insulation, drilling fluids, drill riser buoyancy and cementing operations for oil and gas exploration and development.
