HISTORY OF FARIBAULT WOOLEN MILL
1865: Founded by Carl Klemer, a German-born cabinetmaker, the mill supplies blankets to Civil War soldiers.
1890s: Moves to current location in Faribault.
1917: Makes Army blankets during World War I.
1937: Department stores nationwide carry Faribo brand blankets.
2001: Acquired by investor Michael Harris of Wayzata, ending 136 years of Klemer family management.
2009: Mill closes, idling workforce of about 35.
2011: Mill purchased and reopened by Paul and Chuck Mooty.
