Law firm Kutak Rock expands to Twin Cities

The national law firm Kutak Rock is making a push into Minnesota, with plans to open an office in Minneapolis that will focus on public finance.

The firm, based in Omaha, has more than 420 lawyers in 17 offices spanning the country, including Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. It has a wide practice of corporate law that includes banking, real estate, environmental issues, bankruptcy and intellectual property.

The new office will be staffed by Minnesota attorneys Jill B. Laorr and David C. Murphy. Laorr has experience in public finance transactions involving health care, education and affordable housing, Murphy has done work with nonprofit organizations and American Indian financing.
