Finnegans campaign brings an Effie to Martin/Williams

The Minneapolis ad agency Martin/Williams won a bronze Effie award Tuesday night for its Finnegans Irish Amber marketing campaign.

The Minneapolis ad agency Martin/Williams won a bronze Effie award Tuesday night for its Finnegans Irish Amber marketing campaign that increased sales of the beer by 46 percent since March 2010.

Martin/Williams took honors in the "good works -- nonprofit" category for the limited-brewed St. Paul beer. Finnegans donates all of its profits to charity.

The Martin/Williams campaign included redesign of the bottle and packaging including a new logo that features a shamrock with a halo over it.

"Here's to doing good" is the beer's slogan. No money was spent on media promotion. The Effies are one of the advertising industry's top awards.
