Small-cap Appliance Recycling Centers of America was the biggest winner of the week. Its stock rose 31.7 percent Wednesday, the company after reported strong third-quarter results. An analyst covering MoneyGram put out a "sell" recommendation, sending the stock down. ValueVision's board got rid of its CEO and downgraded its expectations for the year. Mosaic's stock got a bump when it announced that it would pay down some debt and strengthen its balance sheet.
