MOVING UP

The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, Onamia, Minn., promoted Pete Nayquonabe from deputy assistant to assistant commissioner of administration.

RSM McGladrey, Minneapolis, promoted Don Natenstedt from executive managing director of the Upper Midwest region to executive vice president of RSM's U.S. Operations Group in Bloomington. Bill Roche was promoted to executive managing director of the firm's Upper Midwest practice.

Northland Employment Services Inc., St. Louis Park, promoted Sarah Julius from executive recruiter to director and manager of finance and accounting recruiting.

Winmark Corp., Minneapolis, promoted Merry Beth Hovey to vice president of marketing. She was director of marketing.

Midwave Corp., Eden Prairie, promoted Steve Hysjulien to chief operating officer. He was vice president of advisory and integration services.

ON THE MOVE

UCare, Minneapolis, named Renae Froemming director of delegated business services. She was an account director, client management, in the government programs department at Prime Therapeutics.

Kraus-Anderson Construction Co., Minneapolis, named Michael Smoczyk director of education at Kraus-Anderson University in Circle Pines. He was director of career and technical education for Northeast Metro Intermediate School District 916, White Bear Lake.

Steffan Johnson, chief executive officer of Stratus Medical Group, Minneapolis, has been elected president of the National Black MBA Association, Twin Cities Chapter. He previously was vice president of administration.

HONORS

Ultra Machining Co., Monticello, received the 2007 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award for providing exceptional support to employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve.

Cornell Moore, a partner at Dorsey & Whitney, Minneapolis, has been inducted into the National Bar Association Hall of Fame, a professional organization for African-American lawyers. Moore was honored for making significant contributions to the cause of justice.

Char Lusher, nurse manager of Unity Hospital Substance Abuse Unit, Fridley, received the 2007 Larry W. Monson National Award for leadership and contributions to rural alcohol and drug abuse field excellence.
