What's open, closed on Thanksgiving

POST OFFICES: Closed. Express mail will be delivered in the metro area.

Banks: TCF ,Wells Fargo, and US Bank in-store and traditional branches will be closed.

Groceries: Major supermarkets will be closed.

Malls: Most will be closed. Some stores at the Mall of America will be open, as will movie theaters. Call for hours.

Mass transit: Metro Transit buses and light-rail trains will follow Sunday/holiday schedules. For route information, call 612-373-3333 or go to www.metrotransit.org. Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, Maple Grove Transit, Plymouth Metrolink, Southwest Metro Transit will have no service. Call Metro Mobility for service.

Parking meters: Minneapolis, St. Paul and the University of Minnesota won't enforce meters. Minneapolis parks won't enforce meters unless noted on the meter.

Schools: Public schools and the University of Minnesota will be closed.

Public agencies: Local, state and federal offices will be closed.

Libraries: Closed.

Recreation centers: Some open, some closed. Call for hours.
