Facebook is coming to a Target near you.
The two companies said Wednesday that Minneapolis-based Target Corp. will be the first brick-and-mortar retailer to carry Facebook Credits gift cards that can be used with more than 150 games and applications on Facebook, the popular social networking site.
The $15, $25 and $50 gift cards will be available at stores nationwide starting Sunday.
More than 200 million people play games each month on Facebook, according to the companies. While the games are free, players can buy digital goods and other enhancements.
Americans are expected to spend more than $1.6 billion this year on virtual goods and social gaming, according to Inside Network, which does market research on Facebook and social gaming. That's up from $1 billion in 2009.
Among the Facebook games that accept the credits are FarmVille, Mafia Wars, Happy Aquarium, Bejeweled Blitz and City of Wonder.
