KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha police say one person is dead after a house fire.

Police and firefighters were called to the fire around 5 a.m. Tuesday. After the fire was brought under control, a body was found inside the house.

Kenosha Fire Chief Charles Leipzig tells the Kenosha News the body was found inside an enclosed porch.

Leipzig says the fire apparently started on the porch near where the body was found. He said he did not know if the victim was a man or a woman.

An autopsy is scheduled. Police say the identity of the victim has not been confirmed and is not being released. The fire and death remain under investigation.
