It's been exactly three months since the last Technobabble entry, so it's probably way past time for me to acknowledge -- regretfully -- that the blog and its accompanying newspaper column have ended. People who have called and emailed over the past several weeks already got the scoop from me on what happened, so I apologize to the online readers who were left hanging.

As the Star Tribune's assistant features editor, I had always written Technobabble as a kind of part-time job -- capitalizing on my reputation (affliction?) as the newsroom's resident geek. After a reorganization of the newsroom's features department, though, I was asked to focus solely on my supervisory and editing duties. I had held out hope that I might be able to return to writing the blog, at least, at some point, but that seems highly unlikely given the time that has passed. So, goodbye, Technobabble.

Thanks for reading Technobabble these past couple of years. Rest assured that even though I won't be writing about fun tech stuff, I will always be a geek (and wildly addicted lately to the online mode of Battlefield: Bad Company 2).
