Wisconsin took third in the WCHA Final Five, routing Denver 6-3 on Saturday afternoon with a barrage of almost 50 shots.

Vermont was eight in Hockey East and bowed out in the semifinals of its conference tournament, falling to Boston College 3-0. The Catamounts (17-14-7) sure seem beatable.

St. Cloud State lost in the Final Five title game 5-3 to the Fighting Sioux. The Huskies have never won an NCAA tournament game. Could this be the year? The face Northern Michigan (20-12-8) which played in the Gophers' holiday tournament and, in fact, won it.

The Wildcats (20-12-8) finished fourth in the CCHA and lost in the championship game of the conference tournament, 2-1 to Michigan.

Two other WCHA teams are also in the field. Denver is the first seed in the East Regional in Albany, N.Y., North Dakota is the second seed in the Northeast Regional in Worcester, Mass.

Bemidji State, which will be in the WCHA next year, is the second seed in the Midwest Regional in Fort Wayne, Ind.
