Gophers' Friday game at North Dakota spread all over on cable

FSN is carrying the Wild vs. the Buffalo Sabres and U.S. Olympic goalie Ryan Miller. A nice matchup but ... Gophers vs. North Dakota is the best first round matchup since probably 2002 when the same two teams met at Mariucci.

For the Gophers, it's win or hang up the skates. For North Dakota, one of the four No. 1 seeds could be at stake. The Sioux are tied for No. 5 in the PairWise rankings and need to win this series and probably get to the title game of the Final Five to move up a little bit.

North Dakota could lose and still be in the 16-team NCAA field but the Sioux players and fans would love to end the Gophers' season.

As interesting as the first game will be if there is a third game that promises to be even better. High drama in the palace on the prairie, the Ralph.

So what will FSN carry on Sunday? Wild vs. St. Louis Blues and Olympians David Backes and Erik Johnson, 5 p.m. The Wild are fourth in the Northwest Divsion of the Western Conference, the Blues are fourth in the Central Division.

Here is what FSN has on its web site:

This weekend, the Gophers men's hockey team will open the WCHA playoffs with a best-of-3 series at North Dakota. Due to previous scheduling commitments, FOX Sports North will air Friday's game (and Sunday's game, if necessary) on an alternate channel. (Game 2 will air on Saturday at 7 p.m. on your regular FOX Sports North channel.)

We are in the process of compiling a list of channel assignments for the Friday and Sunday games from our various cable and satellite affiliates. We will update that list throughout the week, so if you can't find your provider's information here, please check back.

If you have any questions, please e-mail us at FSNNorthInfo@foxsports.net.
