Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

For the second time in recent days, we have a great submitted photo from "up north." This time, it involves eelpout curling. Come again? This was from the "Chase The Pout Games" over the weekend in Walker, Minn., in conjunction with the 31st Eelpout Festival.
A PR man named Michael passed along the photo. More photos of the eelpout curling, as well as assorted photos and videos of the polar bear plunge, are available right here.
If you did not know, an eelpout is a fish. We're not exactly how sure PETA and others would feel about the eelpout curling, but please note: we are merely the messenger!
