Sen. Al Franken is using the momentum from last week's NBC/Comcast hearing to rake in a few bucks for the cause.

In case you missed it, the former-NBC-employee-turned-lawmaker emerged as the most vocal critic of the two companies merging during a Judiciary Committee meeting and assailed their two execs for various alleged improprieties.

In a fundraising pitch sent to supporters this afternoon, Franken argued that the hearing was an example of standing up to special interests. "And as much as I don't trust Comcast and NBC to be honest brokers on this deal, I am trusting you to help me build support for my positions on issues like this one," Franken wrote. "And as usual, by 'support' I mean 'money.'"

It was this graphic that caught our eye here at Hot Dish, however.
